My Town - Local Non-Profit Organizations
It's true!  We have much to celebrate in our region: improving schools, an expanding base of jobs, and our best-kept secret -- the quality of life where leaders actually care about making this a great place to live.  But, there is more!  Many not-for-profit organizations are also making things better.  And you can be a part of this momentum by getting involved.  Just take a look at the organizations listed on this page and click on the links for more information and volunteer opportunities.  You can make a difference in your community.

Remedies' mission is to support victims of domestic violence as
they begin the recovery process and plan for a future free of abuse.
As victims regain inner strength and rebuild self-esteem, Remedies
is with them every step of their journey and provide a continuum of
care, which allows them to transition from victim to survivor.  They
offer case management, education, advocacy, and emergency shelter
for victims of domestic violence.  Remedies' shelter is open 24 hours a
day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and all their domestic violence
services are free.
