We remember Jeannie Hayes. As we say goodbye to a beloved coworker and friend, Jeannie Hayes, we will always think of a person who brightened our days and lifted our spirits.
Jeannie was the co-host with Sean Henry on the B103 morning show. In addition to that, she was a producer and reporter for the NBC affiliate here in Rockford, WREX.
Jeannie fit a lot into the short 29 years she spent with us. She grew up in South Bend, Indiana, graduated from Marquette University, and seven years ago made Rockford, Illinois her home.
Jeannie worked for us of a couple of times over the last few years. We first got to know Jeannie as she filled in working with Sean in the morning for a three-month period in 2009. Then, last year, we enticed Jeannie to join Sean full-time. It was a move that was great for the radio station and equally fun for Jeannie.
Jeannie's honesty, frankness, and complete innocence was a breath of fresh air not just to all of us, but to the listeners in Rockford. Today people crave authenticity – and that was Jeannie.
We know that we will miss Jeannie on B103. We know that we were lucky to work with her, even if it was for one short year.
Jeannie had two grown sisters and two wonderful parents – we know that she will be missed by all of them. As one of the sweetest, kindest, and most genuine people we will have ever gotten to meet - we know the people of Rockford will miss Jeannie Hayes.
