Under normal conditions oxygen in carried in the blood by the red blood cells. Under pressure more gas is dissolved in a liquid. This basic physics law is the basis of hyperbaric treatment chambers. By increasing pressure oxygen in able to saturate all the tissue. This enables the natural healing process of the body as healing is more significantly improved in an oxygen rich environment.

Since a mild hyperbaric chamber utilizes ambient air, purified through filters, combined with an oxygen concentrator, it is completely safe. It can be used regularly without any danger of oxygen toxicity in the body. There is no risk of the negative effects that can be experienced from the elimination of ions and valuable gases such as nitrogen, as with regular treatments in 100% ...

What's crawling on the lawn?

Here's a link to the University of Illinois extention's article on turf insects and diseases. Keep your lawn healthy!

8 Tips for Landscaping With Dogs
Dog Urine and Lawn Care: What to Do About "Dog Spots"
By David Beaulieu, About.com

Is your landscaping going to the dogs? Is your lawn riddled with "dog spots?" There's no reason that you can't have both dogs and attractive landscaping. But landscaping with dogs does present challenges that may require some compromises. The goal in this balancing act is to achieve an attractive, dog-friendly yard.
Effective landscaping with dogs begins with the recognition that a business-as-usual approach won't work. If your dogs are to be allowed to run about in your yard, you'll probably have to make adjustments to your landscaping. Landscaping with dogs primarily entails making concessions to the dogs, as you'll see from the strategies below. I do, however, offer ...

Perennial Planting

Here's a great resource for your flower planting this season.

When To Plant
The old saying that “patience is a virtue” applies to gardeners who get the itch to garden when temperatures warm up in the spring. One of the ways to determine when to plant veggies is based on their hardiness or their ability to withstand frost and cold temperatures.

Very hardy vegetables can be planted four to six weeks before the frost-free date in the spring. Potato tubers and onion sets can be planted. Asparagus, broccoli and cabbage can be planted as transplants. Collards, spinach, peas, lettuce and turnips can be planted from seed.

Frost tolerant vegetables can be planted two to three weeks before the frost-free date. Cauliflower can be planted as a transplant. Carrots, mustard, parsnip, beets and radishes can be planted from seed.

Tender vegetables can be planted on or after the frost-free date. Beans, sweet ...

Vegtable Garden Basics

Here are some basics for planting a vegetable garden from the University of Illinois Extention

Vegetable Gardening Basics

All gardens have problems. One year it may be insects and disease and the next year it may be a drought. Gardening does require work, but by learning a few basic skills and techniques, you can make your vegetable gardening experience a pleasant one.

Planning the Garden
Location
Choosing a location for your garden is the most important step in the garden planning process. Vegetables need at least 6-8 hours of sunlight for best growth. Leafy vegetables like spinach and lettuce will grow with less sunlight. Choose a location as far away as possible from trees and shrubs. The roots of nearby trees and shrubs will rob your vegetables of needed nutrients and water. Good soil with good drainage is needed. Have your soil tested before you start gardening to determine if ...

LAWN CARE SAFETY

Here's an article from Texas A & M Cooprative on lawn maintenance safety.

Most homeowners do not consider lawn maintenance to be dangerous. However, the Consumer
Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reports that more than 230,000 people per year are treated for injuries from lawn and garden tools. These tools include lawn mowers, trimmers, edgers and other power equipment. Injuries include minor to severe burns and lacerations, broken and dislocated bones, eye injuries and loss of fingers, toes and legs. In 2001, the CPSC reported 167 deaths associated with lawn and garden tools, more than half involving riding lawn mowers and garden tractors. You can avoid accidents like these by making safety a regular part of lawn maintenance, particularly when
using lawn mowers and other power tools.

Lawn Mowers
Mowers can be walk-behind or the riding variety. Both types of mower present similar hazards to
operators, bystanders and animals that ...

LAWN CARE TIPS

Here's some lawn care advice from lawn-care-tips.com

Fertilizing
Fertilizing the grass does more than just make it green. Of course it will make it grow too, but lot's of things happen when you fertilize. Going back to our establishment, fertilizer makes the seed germinate faster, and get started out of the ground. After the grass has a good start fertilizer will make the grass get thicker send off Rhizomes, Stolons or Tillers all making the grass thicker and healthier. What most people want to know is how much and when. Simply put, most grasses will benefit from four applications of fertilizer per year. Spread out 60 days apart starting in early spring approximately 30 days before the growing season starts in your area, continuing through the growing season until fall. Spring fertilizing gets the grass off to a fast start giving you that rich green color everyone wants.
